Village of Spring Valley
HANDY ANDY PARK PROJECT
Will it be safe?
Handy Andy Park has always been located between Hwy 29 and the Eau Galle River. In updating the existing playground equipment, we have discussed how to make the new playground safer as well. We are working on ways to incorporate a safe walking path from town to the park. We are also looking into fencing options to go around the play area. The new playground equipment will remain in the same general location as the current playground equipment.
Will it cost you, a tax payer, money?
These projects will be fully donation funded. We also have the goal of leaving the village with some donated funding to maintain the park in the years to come.
Is the playground toddler-friendly?
The playground was designed with ages 2-12 yrs in mind. There are some things for kids to entertain themselves with at ground level, there are stairs for little ones to get up to the smaller slides, and there are plenty of slides and structures to play on for big kids too.
When will the new park be done?
The new playground equipment was installed by community volunteers in April 2021.
